We are searching for an OPEX Manager to join the team in Burnley!
The purpose of the role is to support the site in establishing a robust and sustainable continuous improvement culture through the application of appropriate tools and techniques. Key to success in this role will be the ability to engage colleagues in identifying appropriate opportunities, implementing the solutions, and sustaining the improvements beyond the initial project phase.
Another key aspect of the role is to work with the management team to coordinate activities and manage specific projects in line with overall business objectives; enabling improvements against plan that support the Continuous Improvement and Business Optimisation process such as waste reduction programmes and OEE improvement.
Whilst the predominant focus will be in the operations area the scope of the role is the entire business, offering opportunity to seek areas of improvement in operational, engineering, technical and supply chain areas as required.
- · Ideally a minimum of 5 years plant-based manufacturing experience required, including supervisory / management experience.
- Possess formal training in lean techniques with practical application of these
- Ideally qualified in a technical discipline and / or able to demonstrate the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts in simple understandable terms.
- Able to demonstrate, through practical examples, an understanding and successful implementation of lean and process engineering tools and techniques
- Clear understanding of manufacturing business process
- An ability to lead, coach, mentor and influence
- Can communicate effectively with all levels of employees
- The drive and passion to challenge and the rigor and tenacity to improve systems, processes and activities, through people
- An energetic, strong willed, self-reliant, tenacious character who enjoys problem solving and can see the “big picture” and articulate the day to day impact.
