About the role:

Key Responsibilities:
- CMMS Work Orders: Oversee and manage computerised maintenance management system work orders, ensuring tasks are properly prioritised, scheduled, and completed efficiently.
- Team Utilisation: Optimise team productivity by fully utilising staff, effectively allocating resources, and balancing workloads.
- Workshop Standards: Uphold high standards in the workshops, ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance machine performance and reliability, driving process improvements and identifying opportunities to reduce engineering costs.
- Apprentice Development: Mentor and support apprentices, fostering their growth and development within the Engineering team.
- Daily DMS Monitoring: Track and report daily DMS (Daily Management System) figures, using data to identify trends and implement improvements.
- Leadership Cover: Act as a deputy for the Engineering Manager during periods of leave, representing the department in meetings and ensuring smooth operations.
- Critical Spares Management: Control and order critical spare parts, maintaining optimal stock levels and ensuring only necessary inventory is kept, to support efficient maintenance.
- Contractor Oversight: Manage external contractors using the correct Permit to Work system, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Safety Compliance: Conduct ASI (Area Safety Inspections) and complete weekly safety cards to maintain a safe working environment.
- BRCGS Compliance: Ensure that all engineering activities align with BRCGS (British Retail Consortium Global Standards) requirements, maintaining compliance at all times.
