We have facilities across the UK and are looking for a Planning Scheduler to join our team in Burnley.

Purpose of role:

  • Develop, maintain and adjust production schedules to optimize machine utilization and meet customer deadlines
  • Ensuring a minimum of 24 hours production scheduling
  • Working closely with the Demand and Capacity Manager, who is responsible  for the weekly generation of the Print plan, communicating the available manning on all assets, and aligning short-term customer demand at finishing level with site capacity and capabilities
  • Assume full responsibility for managing all Outsource work into and out from the site
  • Align goods to build finished stock in a timely fashion for customer call-off
  • Working to BRC standards

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for end-to-end planning, coordinating and optimizing the production schedule to ensure smooth operations within the facility
  • Collaboration with Production, Customer Service and Supply chain teams is essential to ensure timely order fulfilment
  • Use Microsoft Office tools and Planning software to generate schedules for the relevant time period
  • Reduce cost and improve efficiency by understanding the importance of and implementing campaigns wherever possible
  • Understand the capabilities and limitations of all print and finishing machines
  • The function will concentrate on ensuring each job is delivered On Time and in Full (OTIF) through the manufacturing process, whether into finished stock or for customer delivery
  • Utilise the MPS report in the EPR system for customer sales orders, aim to have stock available 48-72 hours before
  • Balance factory output to ensure WIP remains at agreed levels
  • Ensure 24-hour plan adherence through regular communications with the operational teams
  • Will be the first point of contact for any day-to-day production issues within the print and finishing departments
  • Prioritise communication of any delays to warehouse dates for all jobs
  • Liaise with Logistics function closely regarding material requirements for all work including the plain finished goods
  • Full responsibility of the Outsource work on behalf of the site, ensuring internal production completion dates are achieved. Be the first, single point of contact when liaising with all other sites
  • Weekly close of jobs in ERP System

Strategic Input and Business Improvement:

  • Help develop the planning process in a way that supports the business’s long-term goals, with an emphasis on providing excellent customer service
  • Use and evolve the existing report data to maximise operational output
  • Learn SYSPRO and the supporting planning systems as soon as possible

Reporting:

  • Deliver OTIFR and OTIFP to the targets set by the business
  • Measurable KPI’s and expectations that align with the role will be set
